FarmShare CSA, week of July 18th
Week of July 18th, Week 5 of CSA
Hey Folks,
Farmer Pete wants you to know that due to the cold spring and higher than average rainfall we are still a couple of weeks behind in our planting, as are many other farms in the Northeast. As a result, it will be a few more weeks until the other varieties start coming in. Cool weather crops like English Peas are abundant and love this weather where as crops like green beans, broccoli, and cauliflower are still slow growing. Rest assured that we will exceed the share value and ensure you are all getting a return on your investment throughout the season.
Last week members did not receive Strawberries as we were unable to pick in the rain and we found that they weren’t in the best condition for CSA. So long Strawberry season! Hello Blueberries!!
First week for Cut-Your-Own Flowers & Herbs! Yay! If you are a Locavore or Flower & Herb Share member please remember to give yourself a little extra time! We will provide baskets & clippers. CSA Staff will be available to show you around the garden for any first timers.
What’s in this week’s share?
Veggies:
Radish – Crunchy Royal or Breakfast
Zucchini and/or Summer Squash
Greenhouse Tomatoes
Head Lettuce
Shell Peas
Kale
Salad Mix
Fruit:
Blueberries
See you on the farm or on the road!
Cheers,
The FarmShare Team
